Ratings and reviews

I have read the entire Baroque Cycle and Anathem and enjoyed them. Settled down on a snowy day to finish this and just could not muster any more interest after the author spent 3 pages describing a character's wisdom teeth experience. Didn't give a damn what happened to any of the characters any more. Some judicious editing would have made this less tedious.

does this eBook come with the drugs I'd need to take to be either stoned or insane enough to pay this price... go buy a cheap paperback or even used hardbound - or even a cheaper physical copy at discount. insane. no wonder there's piracy!

Interesting subject matter. Needlessly wordy. The contemporary characters' (or the author's?) political musings are cringy. Best example being the liberal college professors hating beards. 🙄 Nope, that regressive trend is cyclical, and lots of liberals are onboard too.
