The murder of a man, and his dog, on an area of common ground puzzles the police as they can't seem to find any motive for it initially. Then a figure from the past crops up and it quickly gets very personal for DCI Jones. This makes for really interesting reading as we get to explore more of his backstory and what it is that drives Warren and makes him tick. Other events running in tandem to the investigation kick things up a pace and raise the stakes dramatically towards a conclusion that kept me reading into the early hours.

Paul Gitsham started his career as a biologist working in the UK and Canada. After stints as the world’s most over-qualified receptionist and a spell ensuring that international terrorists hadn’t opened a Child's Savings Account at a major UK bank (a job even duller than working reception) he retrained as a Science Teacher.
