Patricia Lee
Patience Terry deserves her name. She has waited for the younger Horton brother, Jeremy, to return from his ocean adventures and settle down with her for years. When his ship wrecks and all aboard are considered lost, Patience doesn't lose faith. But readers are going to want to crawl inside the book and strangle the man for all he has put dear Patience through. What makes this story and all of the Southold Chronicles stand out is DeMarino's ability to weave the history of the era into the lives of her characters. They thrive in the midst of the conflict. Now that all three books in the series are available, readers who haven't yet experienced this family tale would enjoy buying the set and begin reading from the beginning. Supporting characters continue to appear in each novel and have important roles to play. But regardless of which book you buy, you will find the story in each compelling in its own right.
