Well written. You can tell the author very much enjoyed creating and playing with these characters. I enjoyed the descriptive fight scenes. I also enjoyed Pharaun and Ryld's 'friendship' and am eager to see where he takes it in the next book. It is hard to care about characters that are evil through and through, but the author did a good job at making the reader care what happened to even the most despicable of characters. I tip my hat to him.

the beginning of a fantastic series,we need more of theese darker sets of drow centered adventures, even now no one's trying to duplicate drow specific series,god if only they worked on this my life would be complete,dont get me wrong drizzt is cool but i loved cheering for the bad guys here. yes it had to be read completely,and it felt like it went all over the place but not way too far,it was much better than Lady Pennitant series,WAY BETTER ,though i did like it GET THIS BOOK

Great start to an amazing series. Really takes the drow in all their flaws and accomplishments. Must read for any drow fan!
