About this ebook

Brody Markham has endured a nightmare. Home after spending the last five years in prison, Brody is trying to survive in a world he no longer recognizes. While his family and friends desperately try to reach through to him, he shelters himself further and further from their love.

Alyssa Myers has worked her entire life to distance herself from the luxurious and privileged lifestyle in which she was raised. Running her non-profit agency, The Haven, Alyssa is content to spend her days helping abused animals find sanctuary, which fulfills her in a way money can’t buy.

Maybe Alyssa recognizes some of the same characteristics in Brody that she sees in her homeless wards. Or maybe she just sees his struggle to surface from the darkness, but Alyssa is powerless to stop her personal quest to make Brody whole again.

When secrets are uncovered, Brody has to decide if he’s going to give in to the darkness or accept the light that Alyssa offers him.

This is how real loving relationships are. Will devastating betrayal and a dangerous stalker keep these two apart? Read to find out what happens when there are some temporary roadblocks put in the way to see if they can withstand and rise above their own trust issues. The stalker is a jealous, dark character. Brody is out of prison on parole, and gets a job with the main character. The two fall in love and I can't tell you more or I'll spoil the book for you. Sawyer Bennett knows how to write a great story with lots of action and intrigue. I definitely like her style of writing and want to read more of her books. This is another great book from Bookbub. I hope you'll consider becoming a member and getting access to all the types of books they have. It's well worth becoming a member. Having access to reading the books on so many types of electronic gadgets from your computer, Kindle, tablets, and even smart phones.

So far, loving the series, but this was the saddest 😢. Heartfelt best describes the story. This isn't a rom com romance. All the main characters have emotional burdens to overcome.I Iike how Allysa and Brodys relationship develops.Would have liked to see a happier ending for Brodys career. 💕☕🐴🐕🐈🍻🍷🥞🥓👍

About the author

Since the release of her debut contemporary romance novel, Off Sides, in January 2013, Sawyer Bennett has released multiple books, many of which have appeared on the New York Times, USA Today and Wall Street Journal bestseller lists.

A reformed trial lawyer from North Carolina, Sawyer uses real life experience to create relatable, sexy stories that appeal to a wide array of readers. From new adult to erotic contemporary romance, Sawyer writes something for just about everyone.

Sawyer likes her Bloody Marys strong, her martinis dirty, and her heroes a combination of the two. When not bringing fictional romance to life, Sawyer is a chauffeur, stylist, chef, maid, and personal assistant to a very active daughter, as well as full-time servant to her adorably naughty dogs. She believes in the good of others, and that a bad day can be cured with a great work-out, cake, or even better, both.

Sawyer also writes general and women’s fiction under the pen name S. Bennett and sweet romance under the name Juliette Poe.
