A mildly amusing wizard caper interspersed, by chapter, with boring sociological musings of the author. One bite of brussel sprouts, one small bite of pudding and repeat. As for entertainment value, you are basically paying full price for half a book. Seems to try and explain the analogies between earth and disk world-why? Pretty obvious.

IAN STEWART is a Fellow of the Royal Society, professor of mathematics at the University of Warwick, and author of numerous books on math and popular science, as well as science fiction novels co-authored with Jack Cohen.
