About this ebook

A legendary mountain man. The greatest western writer of the 21st century. A stampede of Old West action and adventure.

It’s fur trapping season and Preacher is about to discover the Rocky Mountain trail holds more than wild game—it’s also infested with murderers and trail trash quick to deceive, steal, and hunt Preacher down. Among them are Jebediah Druke, his ruthless band of killers, and most terrifying of all, the barbaric renegade Crow warrior known as Blood Eye. When Preacher shows up and gets on their bad side, he stirs up a clash that could lead to a brutal and bloody battle.

Preacher gears up for his own brand of raw justice when he learns Blood Eye’s been tracking him with nothing but bad intentions. There’s a showdown coming and only one man will ultimately rise up out of the carnage . . .

“There’s plenty of gunplay and fast-paced action as this old-time hero proves again that a steady eye and quick reflexes are the keys to survival on the Western frontier.”—Curled Up with a Good Book on Dead Before Sundown

I loved the unexpected twists in the story. Westerns like this never get old. I also like the enduring ideal that right is always right and wrong is always wrong.

About the author

William W. Johnstone is the #1 bestselling Western writer in America and the New York Times and USA Today bestselling author of hundreds of books, with over 50 million copies sold. Born in southern Missouri, he was raised with strong moral and family values by his minister father and tutored by his schoolteacher mother. He left school at fifteen to work in a carnival and then as a deputy sheriff before serving in the army. He went on to become known as “the Greatest Western writer of the 21st Century.”

J.A. Johnstone learned to write from the master himself, Uncle William W. Johnstone, who began tutoring J.A. at an early age. After-school hours were often spent retyping manuscripts or researching his massive American Western History library as well as the more modern wars and conflicts. J.A. worked hard and learned, later going on to become the co-author of William W. Johnstone’s many bestselling westerns and thrillers. J.A. Johnstone lives on a ranch in Tennessee.
