I remember how engaged I was reading the first book of the Selection and how I read all three books one after the other. But after all the hype in waiting for The Heir, it did not have the same appeal to me. Firstly, Eadlyn's character did not convey the "prim and proper" royalty behaviour. When Maxon was in a similar stressful and difficult situations, he still acted educated and royal. Eadlyn on the other hand said "Shut up", and even yelled "Get out" to her parents. This is really disappointing.

Honestly I loved the first 3 but I'm not a fan of just fast forwarding 18 years to a completely different character. I find the only times I'm engaged with the story is when she's interacting with her parents.... The ones I actually want to know more about haha. I want to know about the other girls from the Selection... Their families etc etc... I dunno, just didn't really connect with this character as she's the total opposite of America. I dunno.... It was readable I guess?

lovely story but americas story should have introduced her ending and start of her children with maxon. so it was kind of confusing at the start to know whose point of view the book was in. Eadlyn is the opposite of America which makes the book very interesting tho her choices arent the best its a very exciting book😆
