About this ebook

The Night of Souls—when the veil between the living and the dead is thinnest—is only days away.

Albion is at war . . . and losing.

The wardens have descended, kidnapping innocent citizens for their army, but looking for one in particular.

And fifteen-year-old Kate Winters has just raised a blackbird from the dead.

As her home is torn apart by the wardens, Kate's discovery that she is one of the Skilled—the rare people who can cross the veil between life and death—makes her the most hunted person in all of Albion. Only she can unlock the secrets of Wintercraft, the ancient book of dangerous knowledge. Captured and taken to the graveyard city of Fume—with its secret tunnels and underground villages, and where her own parents met their deaths ten years ago—Kate must harness her extraordinary powers to save herself, her country, and the two men she cares for most. And she'll make a pact with a murderer to do it.

Those who wish to see the dark, be ready to pay your price.

Hahahaha, when I saw this book in my library I was at first just getting it not because of the cover but because of the title. I didn't even think to look inside and read the first page. But when I got home I opened it up and began reading. From that night I couldn't put it down even while I was eating. I devoured the book rather then my dinner. Young Kate and her Allies Edgar and Artemis are an interesting set of characters. Especially the mysterious Silas who I admit I love out of all of the characters in the book. I can not wait untill theres more, I was mad once I finished it but soon I think I'll get over it when I read something similar to it. /=3 Review Given By: Evalissia Mateo {Eve}, 14 Years Old

I found this book to be very interesting. Different from all the humdrum books that repeat repeat and if you get through the first let's say four chapters you can't put the the book down. Yes it is a little slow in the beginning but the creative mind to do this I give props. This book is very creative imaginative and goes beyond the norm of all the books and a life so if you're looking for something different with some excitement some magic some laughter some suspense then look no further in this book
