This was definitely the worst of all the stories to be released. The writing was very lazy and left much to be desired. Characters felt very generic and dialogue was forced. It wasn't terrible but it was noticeably bad compared to the rest. If there's one to skip out on it's definitely this one.

To me I felt like this was the weakest out of all the Simon stories so far. The dialogue was cringy, making me feel like I was reading a bad fanfic. The way most of the characters talked did not sound natural and smooth, I liked mark tho kinda sounding like a poet but the rest were horrible especially simon. Hopefully this was just a single fluke on cass's part and the rest of the stories and the dark artifice when it comes out will be much better written then this

I've never been one to reread books, but Cassandra Clare is such a brilliant author I can't tell you how many times I've read the Mortal Instruments and Infernal Devices series. I own everything that Cassandra has written! Including the Bane Chronicles!! I'm so glad I became curious about the Mortal Instruments and decided to buy the first book to that series, it's what got me hooked! I look forward to the upcoming novellas each month, and of course the up and coming Dark Artifices, and Last Hours books!!!
