Perhaps it was a tad slow in building, and perhaps it wasn't quite as thunderous as it might have been. Also, I have never been too thrilled with the personal ethics of those who populate the Rodenberry universe. But I must admit that there is a large cast of characters, major and minor, who manage to stay tied into the plot lines that are woven around one another. The story arcs aren't tidy and only one or two have an obvious bounce within the last few chapters of the volume. It keeps the Star Trek fam quite engaged.
