I first read this book 19 years ago, it made me a lifelong fan of the author, and still, today, I read her works and get excited for the next adventure. My eyes rarely close when I have a Heather Graham novel unfinished, just like nineteen years ago.

I first picked up this book when I was 15 (don't judge) i love the historical setting and that not all slave owners were cruel as they are claimed to be. This captures that.
