USA TODAY Bestselling Author - The AGATHA AWARD-WINNING Liz Talbot Mysteries
UNIQUE SOUTHERNISMS, GRACIOUS CHARM, AND A CAST OF ECCENTRIC CHARACTERS…
“Susan Boyer delivers big time with a witty mystery that is fun, radiant, and impossible to put down. I LOVE THIS BOOK!” – New York Times Bestselling Author, Darynda Jones
Liz Talbot thinks she’s seen another ghost when she meets Calista McQueen. She’s the spitting image of Marilyn Monroe. Born precisely fifty years after the ill-fated star, Calista’s life has eerily mirrored the late starlet’s—and she fears the looming anniversary of Marilyn’s death will also be hers. Before Liz can open a case file, Calista’s life coach is executed. Suspicious characters swarm around Calista like mosquitoes on a sultry lowcountry evening: her certifiable mother, a fake aunt, her control-freak psychoanalyst, a private yoga instructor, her peculiar housekeeper, and an obsessed ex-husband. Liz digs in to find a motive for murder, but she’s besieged with distractions. Her ex has marriage and babies on his mind. Her too-sexy partner engages in a campaign of repeat seduction. Mamma needs help with Daddy’s devotion to bad habits. And a gang of wild hogs is running loose on Stella Maris. With the heat index approaching triple digits, Liz races to uncover a diabolical murder plot in time to save not only Calista’s life, but also her own. Praise for LOWCOUNTRY BOMBSHELL:
“Lowcountry Bombshell is that rare combination of suspense, humor, seduction, and mayhem, an absolute must-read not only for mystery enthusiasts but for anyone who loves a fast-paced, well-written story!” – Cassandra King, Author of The Same Sweet Girls and Moonrise, inspired by Daphne du Maurier’s Rebecca
“This is the story that keeps you flipping the pages until late at night. Boyer is definitely a keeper, and since it’s still early on in the series, you’ll have a chance to collect the books easily.” Sara Reyes, Fresh Fiction
“Another sharp, sassy, intriguing mystery from Susan Boyer…filled with unique southernisms, gracious charm, and a cast of eccentric characters…Lowcountry Bombshell is a cozy feeling, hard boiled PI novel with a little romance thrown in. The best of three genres all mixed together.” – Nancy McFarlane, Fiction Addiction Book Store
“Flowing with southern charm and delicious flavor, this fast-paced drama quickly draws you in and never let you go until that last sentence that is filled with so many possibilities that I hunger for the next book in this enchantingly charismatic series.” – Dru Ann Love, Dru’s Book Musings
“Although this book has the strong flavors of a Southern mystery it is by no means provincial. It has a sophistication that belies the setting. This Agatha Award winning author of the Liz Talbot mysteries has put together a complicated story that’s rich and juicy with plenty of twists and turns. It has lots of peril and romance—something for every cozy mystery fan.” – Mary Marks, New York Journal of Books
"Lowcountry Bombshell surprises at every twist in the lighthearted plot steeped in obsession with celebrity, unadulterated greed and an affection for South Carolina.” – Oline H. Cogdill, SunSentinel’s SouthFlorida.com
"Susan M. Boyer gets it. And by 'it,' I mean 'the southern voice.' And by that I do not mean she throws “Y’all” into every other line of her dialogue. I mean she understands deep down how Southern people talk and can replicate the cadence and music of that speech on the page as delicately as a master chef adding a last pinch of sea salt to a batch of Hollandaise sauce." - Katherine Tomlinson, CriminalElement.com

This was even better than "Low Country Boil". The characters are more firmly defined. The balance between detecting, romance, and family very good. The sprinkling of the supernatural gives good flavor but never over powers. I want to read more.
