A delightful little tale of murder in a sleepy little English village. I've read several of the Jury books, but never this first one. It was fun getting to know these characters again as they were introduced by Grimes. Melrose is my favorite, but Jury and Wiggins are wonderful as well. Agatha is just an annoying old woman, but I love how Melrose deals with her. Jury had always come across as a rather melancholy character to me, but not in this book. The story flowed well and it was quite easy to keep the various characters separate. The eBook was formatted well with no obvious spelling/grammatical errors.

Now I have finished all Jury novels. Only one missing, the old wines shades...which I cannot find in electronic format :(

First time reader of Ms. Grimes. Superb writer, as reflected in this first in a series of Inspector Jury encounters. Can't wait to get on with the next one, and the following one....
