Fourteen-year old Andy is the janitor's son, and an outcast. A friendship develops between the two loners, and Blake shares most of his secrets with Andy, including the gun. Ryan G. Van Cleave has published stories, poems, interviews, reviews, and nonfiction and serves as Director of C&R Press (www.crpress.org), a non-profit literary organization in Chattanooga, Tennessee, which offers a free community writing workshop program with specialized classes for children and young learners. A frequent speaker and workshop leader at schools throughout the Gulf Coast, Ryan lives in Sarasota, Florida, with his wife and two daughters. Unlocked is his first novel for teens.
