About this ebook

An electromagnetic pulse flashes across the sky, destroying every electronic device, wiping out every computerized system, and killing billions. When it happens, Alex was hiking in the woods to say good-bye to her dead parents and her personal demons. Now desperate to find out what happened after the pulse crushes her to the ground, Alex meets up with Tom—a young soldier—and Ellie, a girl whose grandfather was killed by the EMP. For this improvised family and the others who are spared, it's now a question of who can be trusted and who is no longer human.

Author Ilsa J. Bick crafts a terrifying and thrilling novel about a world that could be ours at any moment, where those left standing must learn what it means not just to survive, but to live amidst the devastation.

Ok so I am on the third book and may I say, can we just get on with it? If one more person tells Alex that Tom is dead I am going to scream. I am actually sick of waiting for all the points to come together. Book 1 and were the same but this can be expected in that stage. I am on chapter 105 and I got so sick of being taken on a wild goose chase that I had to buy something else to read. Seriously, we get it, there are a lot of POV in the book.

Ashes follows a girl named Alex. She has an inoperable brain tumor and is facing a dim prognosis. Striving for a little carpe diem, she heads north toward Lake Superior and a break from her depressing life. While camping, her world becomes flipped when an EMP causes the world to go crazy. Alex must navigate this new world and a new leash on life when abilities she thought she had lost, return to her; along with a new ability to sense emotions. Zombie children, death, romance, and survival. Need I say more?
