I absolutely adore this book and the sequel "Quicksilver" and really wanna buy both books for my bookshelf! I want to read them again, but I moved and my library doesnt have them :( Guess that just means I'll need to buy them sooner than I thought! :)

Incredibly interesting subject matter! Amazing description of the senses. Almost feel,taste,smell her experiences along the way. Very intelligently written. Bravo, well done!

This book is one of the best I've read I a long time, its action-packed, thrilling 1st person point of view. I would recommend this book to any one who enjoys fact-based fiction.

About the author

R. J. Anderson isn't trying to hide that she's female, she just thinks initials look more writerly. According to her mother she started reading at the age of two; all she knows is that she can't remember a single moment of her life when she wasn't obsessed with stories. She grew up reading C. S. Lewis and J. R. R. Tolkien, watching Doctor Who from behind the sofa, and hanging out in her brothers' comic book shop. Now she writes novels about knife-wielding faeries, weird science, and the numinous in the modern world. Quicksilver, her latest novel, also has soldering and pancakes.
