About this ebook

NATIONAL BESTSELLER • The Booker Prize winner and bestselling author of Atonement follows an ordinary man through a Saturday whose high promise gradually turns nightmarish in this “dazzling [and] powerful” novel (The New York Times).

Henry Perowne—a neurosurgeon, urbane, privileged, deeply in love with his wife and grown-up children—plans to play a game of squash, visit his elderly mother, and cook dinner for his family. But after a minor traffic accident leads to an unsettling confrontation, Perowne must set aside his plans and summon a strength greater than he knew he had in order to preserve the life that is dear to him.

Don’t miss Ian McEwan’s new novel, Lessons.

No one that I know besides Ian McEwan could take me through a fairly average day and still keep me turning every page as if I was wanting the conclusion to a mystery. His writing is so beautifully put together that I can't stop reading. Saturday isn't his greatest work, but it's not far behind.

One of the best books I've read. Wish I had a group to discuss it with. Metaphorical but describes current realities.

An interesting book about one day in a city dwellers life. Profound thoughts, that perhaps we all have during a day make this novel. Suprisingly readable. Who are the targeted readers?
