Ratings and reviews

It is my first Deaver novel, so I had an open mind and didn't know what to expect. I was, however, disappointed. The turns in the plot were not credible. One of the main characters in the book, detective Rhyme, was presented in a way, which made it not only impossible to relate to, but actually made me strongly dislike the guy. I also did not enjoy the fact that the author appears unable to keep his political and moral beliefs to himself. I don't read fiction for political statements, rather for entertainment. That aside, the whole novel was not written well and not very enjoyable.

Jeff Deaver has been one of my favorite authors for quite a few years; having read ALL of his earlier books and more than a few of his later ones. He is one of the writers who can write about any subject and make it worth reading. I suggest his books all the time!!

Wow Deaver does it again. The time keeper is one bad dude along with a good number of bad cop's. Rhine & Sacks plus their team are put thru the ringer solving clues and staying alive.
