Tormented by an ancient curse, the young men of Clan MacCordy reach manhood only to walk forever in darkness, thirsting for blood--and Alpin MacCordy is no different. He must wed for coin and land, despite his betrothed's terror--and his own fascination for another woman, Lady Sophie Hay. . .

Bitten, by Lynsay Sands

After brooding Keeran MacKay saves Emily Wentworth Collins from a storm-tossed ship: he offers her shelter in his secluded castle. But when a savage kiss reveals Keeran's true nature, Emily realizes that yielding to Keeran's untamed desire may change her own life. . .forever.

Stranger in the Night, by Sara Blayne

About the author

Lynsay Sands is the New York Times bestselling author of the Argeneau vampire series as well as more than fifteen historical novels and anthologies. She lives in Canada.

Kate Huntington became an Anglophile at the tender age of 16 when her English teacher forced her to read Pride and Prejudice by Jane Austen. The experience changed Kate's life by teaching her the joy of truly excellent literature. She attended St. Francis College in Fort Wayne, Indiana, where she received a bachelor of arts degree in English. After she graduated, she made a living as a reporter and editor at a succession of community newspapers. Her love for Regency romances grew and she eagerly devoured every title she could get her hands on. When she was perilously close to turning 40, Kate resigned from her position as managing editor in order to pursue her lifelong dream of writing novels. Kate fulfilled that dream with the publication of The Captain's Courtship in March 1999. Although it was her debut novel, Romantic Times Magazine labeled it a top pick for March. Her sophomore effort, The Lieutenant's Lady, was published in December 1999, and her first novella was included in the anthology Spring Kittens in 2000. In between author appearances and her busy writing schedule, Kate relaxes with her husband in a small town in Illinois.

Hannah Howell is the New York Times and USA Today bestselling author of acclaimed historical romances. She lives in West Newbury, Massachusetts with her family. Visit her website at hannahhowell.com.

Since Zebra published my first novel, Passion's Lady, in 1985, I have published twelve novels, six short stories, and a novella as Sara Blayne, and four other novels as Johanna Hailey. I have received the Romantic Times certificate of excellence for four of my Zebra Regencies, and An Elusive Guardian was A Little Romance's finalist for Best Regency of the Year. I was honored with the Romantic Times Career Achievement Award for 1998-1999. I was born in historic Las Vegas, New Mexico, nestled in the foothills of the Sangre de Cristos and overlooking a landscape of sweeping mesas. I grew up steeped in the mystique of the Old West with Zane Grey romances among my favorite books. Some of my fondest memories of my childhood are picnicking and fishing along the Gallinas River with my family, which is undoubtedly why fishing figures in so many of my stories. I met my husband Steve when I was working to complete my master's degree in English at Eastern New Mexico University, and a year later we were married. I taught English at Eastern New Mexico University for five years, but resigned to rear our son Caleb. A little over two years later, we were blessed with our daughter Kathryn. It was, for me, a dream come true. In between rearing a family and helping out on the farm, I continued my life-long pursuit of writing. It was not until I stumbled on to a Georgette Heyer Regency that I felt as if I had finally come home. I sat down and began what was to become my very first published Regency Romance, Passion's Lady. It took me two years of writing during the babies' naps, but I finally finished it. Today, along with babysitting for my new grandson Morgan William, I am working on my seventeenth novel, a traditional Regency entitled A Noble Heart, which is the fourth in the series about the Powell family of seven children.
