Sadie and Carter Kane are in BIG trouble, I'm not over exaggerating. They are chin height in trouble and it is working its way up. Apophis is up again despite their best efforts and he is bigger and badder than ever. With Apophis about to swallow the sun (big mouthful, but hey, he's a big snake) Sadie and Carter have their work cut out. Think you've been under pressure? Well, not as bad as this. Sadie has to defeat Apophis, but she has a bigger decision, Walt or Anubis? Carter has Zia, who is a million miles away and does not quite share the same feeling. Will Sadie and Carter prevail? Find out in this last thrilling instalment from the renowned Rick Riordan.

Now, its been a while since I have read the second book in this trilogy, but I cant shake the feeling I have read this book before. *Spoiler alert* Thoths imprisonment in the pyramid, and their Mom trapped and huddled against a terrifying force are two of the examples that jump to mind. Both experiences are presented as new knowledge to the Cane siblings, but I swear they both found out about them in the second book. And the whole concept of them tracking down the shadow... isn't it identical to how they went about the statue thing in the second book? I mean, right down to the visit to Thoth and him telling them he can't teach them how to destroy a God? Either I'm psychic, or Rick re-used the entire plot of Throne of Fire. Shame. His Percy Jackson and the Olympian series are excellent.
