This is a scary and almost realistic feeling type of book. It definitely go me thinking: what if there was a disease that turned humans into undead with a bite...ugghhh scary...currently i am making my own evac plan..just in case. But anyway the book is written like a journal which is nice because you get to hear j/l Bourne's personal thoughts and plans as he goes through the motions of trying to survive in a zombie apocalypse. NOW that me clarify normal this is not a book i would read i like girly things and memoirs and love story's hahha so this was definitely out of my genre but it is definitely worth the read no matter who you care ( well not children..its a bit too scary)

I can't recommend this enough. The author does an excellent job of setting the stage for a truly horrifying experience in a zombie infested world. The minimalistic approach is highly effective in painting a vivid picture of death, while allowing the reader to drop in and out of the world on a whim without losing the original deep connection made from the moment things go awry.

This book was written by another military fellow and I read it while deployed to Iraq a few years ago...so I might be a tad biased. I thought this book was a nice, quick read that explored the day to day survival of a man on the run as the world collapses around him. One thing I especially enjoyed about the book was it was fairly realistic with the main character not being a 'superhero' or a guy that does unbelievable acts. He generally stays within the realm of plausibility and realism. At times he delves a bit into military jargon, but that felt right at home to me. I would certainly recommend this book.
