Under the Christmas Tree

Each year, the close-knit community gathers in the town square to decorate and light a massive tree. Carols are sung, hot chocolate is shared—and a surprise left under the Christmas tree is about to bring two special people together!

Midnight Confessions

Holiday kisses don't end with Christmas—there's still the New Year's Eve party at Jack's Bar to attend. Locals and newcomers alike find themselves eager for that special countdown…and that midnight kiss.

So join us in Virgin River this year, where Robyn Carr's trademark humor, warmth and sincerity will have you celebrating the festive season in your favorite mountain town.

Audiobook review: Overall – 5 Performance – 5 Story – 5 Two great novellas! It’s been quite a while since I’ve read the wonderful Virgin River series. It’s a series that I think is best read in order to get maximum enjoyment but there are a few novellas scattered in among the full novels that are pretty satisfying as individual reads; the two in ‘Tis the Season are like that. I was delighted to experience these stories in audiobook format. Therese Plummer did a great job with this audiobook, as she has will all of the others in this series. Listening to this brought back wonderful memories of reading the full series several years ago. In both stories there’s a little bit of the original Virgin River “family” but each story is focused on a couple that isn’t quite part of the Virgin River family – although they do have ties to it. Under the Christmas Tree has puppies! And a surprise romance between a large animal vet and the woman who rescued the puppies. Midnight Confessions is about a young woman who was left at the altar and the man who helps her to get over her bitterness about that event. I enjoyed listening to these so much. My personal preference is for male narrators but Therese Plummer is able to do justice to the male characters and I wouldn’t hesitate to listen to more books that she performs. It doesn’t matter that the stories take place around the Christmas holidays, they can be enjoyed no matter what time of year it is. A complimentary copy of this audiobook was provided to me by the publisher but my review was voluntary and not influenced by the author and/or narrator.

These three very different novellas actually fit quite well together. The first two definitely put you in the mood for the holiday season while the third is a sweet, feel good story perfect for whenever. Throughout all three Carr’s well written, well thought out style shines through, allowing readers to escape from the everyday for just a little while. Carr’s method of character development really shines through and you get to know these individuals as if they were your neighbours. I was very impressed with how well we get to know each of the main couples that we’re introduced to. Each can be read as a standalone novella, while the two Virgin River stories also fit into the series well. Overall, this was a fantastic, light read perfect for any time of the year. Please note that I received a complimentary copy of this work in exchange for an honest review.

First two are Virgin River stories that should not be missed. Last one predates all Robyn 's series but is clever and has something to say!
