Sadly, there is an inordinate amount of fat shaming and ableism in this one. Also, the way author uses the protagonist to reinforce feminine gender roles and performance through her revulsion and fear of her alter-form, a dragon, is disappointingly boring. Still, it is satisfying to find out what Dory's roommate was up to during Midnight's Daughter, even if the romance is too pat and unrealistic.
