I would not recommend this book to anyone under the age of 8th grade. There is some inappropriate language, drinking, and smoking. The main character does all of the above and changes her name multiple times. She is young and falls in love. I do not know if there are any questionable scenes with her and her lover because I did not feel the need or want to finish the book after things that happened earlier in the reading. I will say that it is a well written book, but not for younger age groups.

I didnt get into it or feel like i was part of the book like I usually do. I dont enjoy that especially sense this is my first Dessen book~EVER! Im going to try Lock and key or Along for the ride next..i hope I dont get dissapointed again, because then Dessen will have a bad reputation in my head! I hear shes very good so lets hope the next one is better than this one!! Overall.. I dont recomend wasting your time....

I love Sarah Dessen's books, she is brilliant! I at the moment am reading What Happened to Goodbye, and I am loving it! I have read her books Just Listen, The Truth About Forever, That Summer, Along for the Ride, and Keeping the Moon. I am destined to read all of her books, it is literally on my bucket list! I sadly only own The Truth About Forever, but What Happened to Goodbye and all her other books I would love to own one day instead of going back and forth from the library. All I know is that if you don't love What Happened to Goodbye, Sarah Dessne and her other books, you're crazy!

Sarah Dessen is the author of thirteen novels, which include the New York Times bestsellers The Moon and More, What Happened to Goodbye, Along for the Ride, Lock and Key, Just Listen, The Truth About Forever, and This Lullaby. Her first two books, That Summer and Someone Like You, were made into the movie How to Deal. 
 
Dessen’s books are frequently chosen for the Teens’ Top Ten list and the list of Best Fiction for Young Adults. They have been translated into twenty-five languages.
