Worried as he is for his family's safety, distracted by his partner's troublesome love life, with the bite of economic recession casting gloom, this dark summer seems endless—until a vital clue appears, and the case begins to unravel.
About the author
Jon Cleary (1917 – 2010) was an Australian author whose illustrious career spanned over five decades. He began his Scobie Malone mystery series in the 1960s with the now-classic The High Commissioner. Several of his works were adapted for film and mini-series.
