About this ebook

Elantris was built on magic and it thrived. But then the magic began to fade and Elantris began to rot. And now its shattered citizens face domination by a powerful Imperium motivated by dogged religious views. Can a young Princess unite the people of Elantris, rediscover the lost magic and lead a rebellion against the imperial zealots?

Brandon Sanderson's debut fantasy showed his skill as a storyteller and an imaginer of baroque magical systems to be fully developed from the start.

He must have been working on this book as well helping Robert Jordan on Wheel of Time'. Some uneccessary over description. Read his 'Epic' series, could not put the down. Good dry humour in all his novels

Overall very interesting way of how magic was executed and conceived. Mid-way i felt it draggy and found myself rushing towards the end to find how magic came about and how to stop the 'rot'. Ending was a bit rushed for me too. Overall still a very good read. I enjoyed it very much.

some interesting ideas but it never really grabbed me. of course I am a bit older ... maybe aimed at a younger audience?
