An intriguing YA/NA (one of those I'm not sure how to define) story set in Alaska. A bad boy rock star who made it huge at a very young age. Although very successful Bishop has always struggled with anxiety over performing in front of a crowd. To get through it he turned to drugs and alcohol until it all became too much and he almost died. Given the ultimatum of clean up your act or your out of the band, Bishop agrees to go to Alaska to get himself together out of the public eye. He's not exactly dedicated to the cause though and sneaks in pills with him. Once there he meets Penny, a hard hitting hockey player who may look like an angel but plays with guys on the ice and doesn't take any of his bull. He also becomes friends with Penny's Gramps, an old guy who may be losing it a bit but still has more wisdom than most. His new relationship with these two slowly make him realize what a waste his life has become. A great read that I would definitely recommend to everyone.
