About this ebook

Her child is missing but someone out there knows the truth...

'Intensely readable' Guardian
'Powerfully written fiction' The Times
'The undisputed queen of British crime thrillers' Heat

From Sunday Times No.1 bestseller Martina Cole, comes a gripping crime drama featuring the fearless Joanie Brewer, whose her need for revenge threatens to destroy even the ones she loves.

Joanie Brewer's children are everything to her. She gives them all the love she can, but she's brought them into a tough world. Her son Jon Jon is already up to his neck in a life of crime and her daughter Jeanette is more streetwise than a fourteen-year-old should be. Her youngest Kira, though, is too sweet and too innocent for their dark world.

Joanie does her best to protect her baby. But when Kira disappears, Joanie's real nightmare begins.

Never underestimate Martina Cole's women. For other powerful female characters, be sure to also read Martina Cole's Goodnight Lady, Close and Get Even.

I feel like I'm the only one in this review section that didn't enjoy this book😂, I found it awful and so dragged out. The way it was wrote was highly confusing and I really didn't enjoy it. I got about quarter way through and thought ooh, it's getting good but it then went down hill again. Only at the end it started to get good when you actually found out answers but all in all it was a slow dragged out book😳

A gripping tale without doubt but far too many characters. Some are incidental and have no real bearing. You need a good memory that I no longer have! Tom Crossley

One of Martina Cole's 5 star novels. The characters, the narrative and the plot, albeit sad, were superb. Have tried reading other authors who write in the same vein as MC however they are poor relations in comparison to this consistently good author
