About this ebook

Welcome to Bright Falls-a seemingly idyllic small town in the Pacific Northwest.

The perfect place for Alan Wake, a bestselling crime novelist, and his wife, Alice, to relax for a few weeks. Maybe a second honeymoon and the fresh air will cure Wake of his writer's block.

But when Alice goes missing under mysterious circumstances, Wake's desperate search for her leads him into a hell only he could imagine.

In the depths of nearby Cauldron Lake, a dark and malevolent presence has awakened from a long slumber. It's reaching out now, turning the townsfolk into mindless killers. Sheathed in shadows, vulnerable only to light, they are Taken.
Wake's journey will lead him to the very edge of madness, and deep within the dark woods, he will come face-to-face with a story he has no recollection of ever writing.

I think the reason most people dont get the book is because it is a little complicated. Now I played the alan wake game so I can understand it more because I picture the game when reading it. The game was excellent the fact that you can see what's happening as its going through the story made it more realistically scary. They did great for game not so much the book. Props for trying though.

I really enjoyed this book. It was a very fun read that kept me coming back to it. The pacing was quick and the book did not have a lack of action. BUT...... I found that a huge area that this book suffers from is lack of character development although characters are shoehorned in with the intention for the reader to care about their untimely demise it just falls short. The author does an amazing job describing areas and people but sometimes it is overkill. Still, I would recommend this book.

By Evan Meyer From a book to a top seller Microsoft game studio video game Alan Wake has made a great story to everyone. Alan wake is a book of when bestseller crime novelist Alan Wake and his wife Alice come to Bright Falls to stay a few weeks to relax and maybe have a 2nd honeymoon. But when Alan’s wife gets kidnapped by the darkness of Cauldron Lake he and his publisher Berry Wheelman go to do whatever they can to save his wife and see that Bright Falls is not so relaxing. When I first heard of Alan Wake it was a game review. My mother got me the book as a gift and I bought the game. When I played the game it was too hard for me. Then me and my family were driving to go to Schuss Mountain the only thing I did was read the novel. It was only 4 hours but on the way back I read it for 8 hours nonstop. I would recommend this book to people who own the game or have read The Hunger Games. Sometimes it will scare you. Sometimes it will make you want to read on. But you will find that after you think you read it for 30 minutes it was really an hour.
