About this ebook

From USA Today bestselling author Laura Drewry comes a warm and witty new Friends First novel—perfect for readers of Jill Shalvis and Susan Mallery. How Forever Feels is a sweet tale about the one that got away . . . and the one that came back.

Maya McKay’s heart is as big as Jack Rhodes’s shoulders are broad. Their chemistry is out of control, but it could never work between them because Jack is more than just best friends with her cheating ex-husband—they’re like brothers. Maya, the sensitive, practical florist, has given up on love and is ready to settle for like. But now that Jack’s around again, he’s stirring up old feelings—and turning Maya’s fantasies into irresistible reality.

Jack blew his chance with Maya years ago when he stepped aside for his best friend, Will, and he’s still kicking himself about it. Maya was promised forever once before, and she got burned. But when Jack realizes that second chances aren’t going to fall out of the sky, he seizes the moment—and the woman he’s always loved—to show her how forever truly feels.

“One of the best authors of unrequited love stories would have to be Laura Drewry with her Friends First series.”—The Book Enthusiast

“The Friends First series is unlike any other series I’ve read. Every book is just about perfect, with characters flawed enough to be convincing and easy to relate to. Yet somehow each new book is even better than the last. . . . Forget taking one book with me in that stranded-on-a-desert-island scenario. I just want to take Drewry’s imagination.”FicCentral

“I really have grown to love this author and this series. She consistently delivers on plot, characterization, and swoony men to swoon over. This book is no different.”—Nose in a Book Reviews

When Jack first met Mia, years ago, he had feelings for her. However when Will, his “brother” joins him and expresses interest in her, he steps back. Jack owes everything to Will and his family. They rescued him from the foster system when he was a teenager. Eventually, Will and Mia married. However after he cheated on her, she divorced him. Jack returns to town for Will’s wedding. When Mia sees Jack in the pub she is overjoyed. You get a good feel feeling when they first meet up. Both of these two had feeling for each other but neither one of them acted on them. Jack’s feelings for Mia haven’t changed. But because of his strong sense of obligation to Will and his family, he feels he should not purse a relationship with Mia, especially when Will tells him its “bros before hoes”. However the more time they spend together the more feelings they have for each other. What I like best about this author’s books is the wholesome book cover, strong women and a sense of family and friendship. While this one was just as good as the rest, I thought it was a little more serious. While there is humor interspersed throughout the book, I didn’t feel that there was as much as in the other books. However that is not going to stop me from reading books by her. In fact, I think I missed Regan’s story so I will go back and catch up on her story.

I loved this book so much!! If you've read the entire series like I have, you knew Maya's story would be filled with drama and Ms. Drewry did not disappoint! While this is the fourth, and I think final, book in the series it can be read standalone but once you meet these great characters you'll find yourself going back and reading the others as well. While reading this I thought Jack needed to man-up and Maya needed to back off the bitchy a bit, in the end I just adored them together. They first met in a crowded bar but while Jack was at the bar getting them a drink, his best friend and foster brother Will stepped in and swept Maya off her feet. Not wanting to damage his relationship with the only family he'd ever had kept him from doing anything about. Now four years and a divorced Maya later, Jack is back in her life and this time he plans to make her his. Forever! An awesome book and series that I recommend to everyone.

Laura Drewy writes compelling stories that explore the heart. She takes real issues and builds stories that appeal to the emotions. How Forever Feels is a story of regret, guilt and the one that got away. Maya and Jack are friends first. When Maya needs him most Jack is always there to help pick up the pieces. As she starts to see him in a whole new light, Jack struggles with regret over missed chances, guilt about the way he feels and determination. He intends to show her what love really is. I knew Ms. Drewry was good, but How Forever Feels is my favorite story of hers so far. I love second chance stories and am so glad Maya and Jack got a chance to have one. I received an ARC of this novel in exchange for an honest review.
