W.E.B. Griffin so accurately captures the essence and spirit of the Marine Corps. When you factor in his ability to understand and convey historical facts of WW II, it is a real treat for a WWII history buff and Marine like myself.

First WEB Griffin book I've picked up. 100 pages in I put it down, and won't likely come back to it. Boring. Not a disagreeable writing style, but nothing seems to happen.

with the possible exception of the Brotherhood of War, his series on the United States Army, this series concerning the United States Marine Corps is one of the most entertaining, intricate and involved stories relating to a very very interesting period of time in the history of the core.
