About this ebook

Welcome to Patricia Briggs’s world, a place where “witches, vampires, werewolves, and shape-shifters live beside ordinary people” (Booklist). It takes a very unusual woman to call it home—and there’s no one quite like Mercy Thompson.

By day, Mercy Thompson is a car mechanic in the sprawling Tri-Cities of Eastern Washington. By night, she explores her preternatural side. As a shape-shifter with some unusual talents, Mercy’s found herself maintaining a tenuous harmony between the human and the not-so-human on more than one occasion. This time she may get more than she bargained for.

Marsilia, the local vampire queen, has learned that Mercy crossed her by slaying a member of her clan—and she’s out for blood. But since Mercy is protected from direct reprisal by the werewolf pack (and her close relationship with its sexy Alpha), it won’t be Mercy’s blood Marsilia is after.

It’ll be her friends’.

4 of 5 stars for the Audible novel Bone Crossed: Mercedes Thompson #4. Fourth book in the series of 6 this novel returns focus to the vampires in the neighborhood with a little Fae magic blended-in. Mercedes still debates her fate with Adam and his pack of Werewolves. We do find out a few more bits of knowledge about the Fae “walking-stick” that keeps following Mercedes. Fun and easy on the brain, this novel was interesting and surprising. I do recommend it and will continue with the next in the series.

Ms. Briggs is creative with her creation of Mercy, her leading lady of the story. It is refreshing to have a character that is down to earth, tomboyish, and doesn't mind getting a little dirty. It doesn't hurt that there is a little of the supernatural thrown in but again Patricia doesn't disappoint her readers with the same stuff and when she did, she was able to add a whole new twist to keep readers engaged until the end.

Someday I hope to read Marsilia getting her just deserts. I liked reading more of Stefan. Keep them coming, Ms. Briggs!
