Even though I had good prospects of making a successful life by traditional , or shall we say modern , standards , I felt there was something fundamentally missing in my life . Long story short , I was shown the Bhagavad - gītā As It Is , along with Srila Prabhupada's other translated books , and since then , about two years ago , I have never looked back . This book is potent . The Vedic wisdom and account of the Absolute Truth is unsurpassed by any other wisdom tradition . I have searched the four corners of the world and the Vedic tradition is the summation or reservoir of them all . The Vedic wisdom tradition is so vast that one cannot hope to ascertain its apex , acme or conclusion without the help of a bona fide spiritual master . Such a master is found in Srila Prabhupada . Bhagavad Gita As It Is - Book is so well written with simple language for a general person to understand it. I really loved the way the explanation for the sloka has been put for complete understanding. Author, His Divine Grace A C Bhaktivedanta Swami Prabhupada has given the easiest way to understand the Gita that Lord Krsna sung, but I, unfortunate, never tried to understand till this Book came into picture of my life. All glories to Srimad Bhagavad Gita As It Is.!!! A must read Book reading which one would not be left with a will to understand further in other books.

He has changed my life and I owe everything to him. Hare Kṛṣṇa p.s. Make sure to get the 1972 MacMillan Edition of the Bhagavad-gītā As It Is. The other editions are revised and edited. In other words, they are changed versions and not 100% what Śrīla Prabhupāda personally wrote. Best to stay away from "corrections" like that.
