About this ebook

Stories to delight, enchant, and surprise you.

Bestselling author and master storyteller Neil Gaiman here presents a breathtaking collection of tales that may chill or amuse readers—but always embrace the unexpected:

  • A teenage boy who has trouble talking to girls finds himself at a rather unusual party.
  • A sinister jack-in-the-box haunts the lives of the children who owned it.
  • A boy raised in a graveyard makes a discovery and confronts the much more troubling world of the living.
  • A stray cat fights a nightly battle to protect his adopted family from a terrible evil.

These eleven stories illuminate the real and the fantastic, and will be welcomed with great joy by Neil Gaiman's many fans as well as by readers coming to his work for the first time.

THIS IS A HATE of the SAMPLE NOT THE BOOK which I am Sure is Good being Gaiman's. Just let us have a real sample, cause it gave me nothing!!!! You Guys should really work on your sample sections on all of Gaimans books. Ive read his books for years and I love them. That being said, your basically leaving us with no sample at all on almost everyone of these I looked at. I like the writer enough that I might still buy the book, but for people that do not know the author better your basically leaving it a blind choice. Please Look at and try to fix this, It would definitely make the choice an easier one if not,, it will make it less of a choice and more of dumb luck. 3 stars is not for the book, which being Gaiman's work is probably outstanding, but rather for the sample which is non existant. it literally does not exist. let me see 3 pages and I would be satisfied. I just want to see it, or someone talking about the book, or a satisfied customer giving a synopsis. Anything other than nothing!!!

I've read the paperback before and reading the digital is still as captivating. Some stories are repeated in other short story collections of his though.

A collection of short stories by one of my all-time favorite author Neil Gaiman. A fun read especially if you on a bus or train going somewhere on a gloomy day.
