About this ebook

'OMG! This book had me gripped from the start, it literally took me less than 4 hours to read it. I just couldn't put it down... loved it!' Goodreads reviewer ⭐ ⭐ ⭐ ⭐ ⭐

My name is Emma Cartwright. Three years ago I was Susan Webster, and I murdered my twelve-week-old son.

I have no memory of what happened but you believe what your loved ones, your doctor and the police are telling you, don't you?

But if you can't remember what happened, how can you be sure that they are telling the truth?

And if there was the smallest chance your son was alive, wouldn't you do anything to get him back?

A heart-stopping, addictive thriller that will have you hooked from the first page to the last, perfect for fans of The Girl on the Train, The Silent Patient and The Family Upstairs.

I am not sure if I liked this book. In my view the story was not credible and I did not like Susan at all. The ending was far fetched. THere were too many inconsistencies to my mind and it was not a thriller. I dragged out the reading and skipped quite a few pages. I do however, usually like this author.

Im usually the type of person who gets halfway through a book and loses interest and stops reading. I got halfway through this book however and then I literally couldnt put it down till I reached the end! Easy to read, relatable main characters, twists and turns, and touches on a sensitive subject that will pull on all mothers heartstrings. I loved this book from start to end and will definitely be buying anything else this author writes. Brilliant debut novel well done Jenny Blackhurst!

At first I didn't understand why there are two entries in the boom but as you carry on everything starts to add up but even though you try and figure it out the end is something you'd never think of! Loved this book and I really recommend it!

About the author

Jenny Blackhurst grew up in Shropshire where she still lives with her husband and children. Growing up she spent hours reading and talking about crime novels - writing her own seemed like natural progression. Inspired by the emotions she felt around her own son's birth, How I Lost You is Jenny's thrilling debut crime novel.
