About this ebook

**NOW A MAJOR MOTION PICTURE AVAILABLE ON DVD**

Spanning forty years, two women's stories of love, loss and betrayal are intertwined in this award-winning novel by
Jojo Moyes, internationally bestselling author of Me Before You, After You, Still Me and the new bestseller The Giver of Stars.

****

When journalist Ellie looks through her newspaper's archives for a story, she doesn't think she'll find anything of interest. Instead she discovers a letter from 1960, written by a man asking his lover to leave her husband - and Ellie is caught up in the intrigue of a past love affair. Despite, or perhaps because of her own romantic entanglements with a married man.

In 1960, Jennifer wakes up in hospital after a car accident. She can't remember anything - her husband, her friends, who she used to be. And then, when she returns home, she uncovers a hidden letter, and begins to remember the lover she was willing to risk everything for.

Ellie and Jennifer's stories of passion, adultery and loss are wound together in this richly emotive novel - interspersed with real 'last letters'.

Another tear jerker from Jo Jo Moyes. What a wonderful, complicated story she writes. Her writing style keeps me reading even when the plot is a tad confusing due to the lack of chapter headings. The story moves back and forth in time and it is sometimes difficult to work out whether Jennifer's story is pre or post accident; this is where chapter headings would have been useful. The book really came to life for me about half way through when she moved into Ellie's story; it was then that the whole plot started to make more sense. My copy, from my local library, was published by Hodder & Stoughton and whoever did the proof reading is hopefully out of a job by now as there were numerous mistakes which made the smooth flow of Jojo Moyes' narrative difficult to read. I have previously read this author's You Before Me and will continue to seek out more of her work. It is very satisfying to read a book, such as The Last Letter From Your Lover, which has a good "old fashioned" ending.

I loved Jennifer's part of the story, what she goes through, how well Moyles reflects the society of her time, and I have to admit that I became an addict, that is until I finished a page presuming it would move forth and discovered that is finished. Bitterly dissapointed with the ending, too many loose ends, could have gone much further with it.

Really nice read, shame the editing let it down. Love Jojo's style it's easy to loose yourself in the characters
