About this ebook

Bon Temps’s psychic waitress takes a dangerous road trip in the third novel in the #1 New York Times bestselling Sookie Stackhouse series—the inspiration for the HBO® original series True Blood.

There’s only one vampire Sookie Stackhouse is involved with (at least voluntarily) and it’s Bill Compton. But recently he’s been a little distant—in another state, distant. Then his sinister and sexy boss Eric Northman tells Sookie where she might find him. Next thing she knows, she’s off to Jackson, Mississippi, to mingle with the under-underworld at Club Dead, a dangerous little haunt where the elite of vampire society can go to chill out and suck down some Type-O. But when Sookie finally finds Bill—caught in an act of serious betrayal—she’s not sure whether to save him...or sharpen some stakes.

This book is one of those books u can't put down but being a person that was born and raised in Jackson and the surrounding areas its quite clear that the author has never stepped foot in Jackson. To describe the land between Vicksburg as flat and full of bayous is equivalent to calling the sun dark and cold. Fyi Vicksburg is known as the hilly city and it quite evident when making the journey from Jackson to Vicksburg and most of the buildings downtown are greater than 5 story. Authors do your research.

I just started reading the books because I'm such a fan of the show. The books are ok, I enjoy reading them just to compare notes. To be honest, if it weren't for the HBO series I don't think the books would really interest me. Sookie in the book seems to repeat herself a lot, which kind of annoys me. And makes her a little uninteresting. But I don't altogether hate the books either. I give it maybe 2.5 stars.

I'm from southern Mississippi and this story evokes so many home memory's. I'm a huge Buffy fan and Sookie embodies the heroine and damsel all at once. A must read and a must see on HBO. I love that the books and show take different paths. I have fallen in love all over again knowing what's going on inside Sookie's head.
