He is also one of three judges of the NHL Professional Writers Associations annual writing contest. Falla is the author of six books, including Sports Illustrated Hockey. His last book, Home Ice, was reviewed by The New York Times, and ESPN sportscaster John Buccigross called it the best hockey book ever. Falla holds a master’s degree from Boston University’s College of Communication, where he currently teaches a course on Sports Journalism. He lives in Natick, Massachusetts.
