To be completely free of his curse, Maxum has to kill the god who cursed him so he needs all the help he can get including the magical amulet stolen by the earthy wench who seduced him in this adventurous paranormal romance. Arianne is a skilled thief so when she’s caught between a rock and a hard place she strikes a bargain and the reader can’t help but get caught up in the adventure as Maxum, Arianne and their small band go treasure hunting. The chemistry between Maxum and Arianne is hot and steamy but the relationship is a bit volatile as both are determined to do things their way causing quite a few heated encounters that add spice and quite a few chuckles. These strong compelling characters have lots of charisma and are not afraid to use it in order to get what they want and the steady to fast paced, smooth flowing plot thrills readers with lots of suspense, adventure and romance. Adrenaline pumping excitement builds throughout the story as Maxum leads the band on several dangerous and deadly quests to find treasure and of course Maxum’s hidden agenda adds some extra excitement to those quests as well. The story also has a multitude of other intriguing elements that add to the tension and dangers of their journey, like adversity among the band members, goddesses, demi gods, weredragons and Maxum’s curse. The well written scenes and details make this adventure come alive for the readers which makes it easy for them to become a part of the story and the intriguing events ensure that there is never a dull moment. The ending to the four brothers’ saga is not what I expected, it is in fact so much better this way, it also made Maxum’s story quite a bit different that the other three and brought about closure on the war between the gods. I was completely caught up in Maxum and Arianne’s story from beginning to end and the epilogue as it made for a perfect conclusion to the Immortal Brothers series.
