About this ebook

‘A laugh-out-loud funny take on modern dating for lovers of Paige Toon and Adele Parks. Perfect to read while you’re detoxing in January!’ Closer Magazine

A supremely unlucky in love, late twenty-something living in London decides to leave the whole sorry business of dating behind – at least for a while.

Dating is a dangerous sport. So after her sixth successive failed relationship, romantically-challenged 20-something Sass decides she’s had enough.

The Dating Detox is born. No men, no break-ups, no problem.

The result? Her life – usually joyfully/traumatically occupied with dates, clothes and vodka – is finally easy. Chastity rocks. No wonder nuns are always singing. Everything falls at her feet. Especially men.

Will Sass break the rules? Why does fate keep throwing her in the path of the irritatingly amusing – and gorgeous – Jake? Will she ever roll the dice and play again? Or is a love-free life too good to risk losing?

I really enjoyed this book. It was a fun read following a young woman's journey as she tried to figure herself out when it comes to dating and love. I found it quite relatable and I loved the different characters - male and female. Having read Gemma's A Girl Like You, which was brilliant, I look forward to reading her next book.

I love the story and have often re-read this book, however I'm trying to read it again and half the punctuation is missing and some of the words are all together and it makes it quite difficult to read. I have had this book a while and do not recall having these issues before with it. It is a great story and an easy read but unfortunately i cannot read it again in this format!

About the author

Gemma Burgess moved to London at the age of 22. She started working as an advertising copywriter, and applied herself more wholeheartedly to having a good time. Eight years later she decided to distil some of her experiences into The Dating Detox: the book for women with confidence, wit and style but absolutely no clue whatsoever how to know the real thing when they see it. (Love, that is.)
