Raymond Booker
This book is filled with shallow two dimensional characters predictable outcomes and way to much redundant techno babble! The author seems to pride himself on attention to details but that approach only works when said details further the story not hinder it. I must say that the so called alien conquerers in this book are so stupid that they make imperial stormtroopers look like Rhodes scholars. If I were given a choice between reading this book and having a tooth pulled I'd have to think about it......

It's really been a long while since I really read a book, too long actually. After buying this book from Barnes and Noble I have already blown through 4 books and picking up 5 and 6 and will be reading his other Marine books. Amazing read for anyone looking for Scify, action, and exploration within the Cosmos. The fact that he also uses real scientific notation and lists planets with planetary information and keeps the book to as real as he can to physics also reeled me in.

A deep speculation into the tactical implications of relatitivistic effects on millitary engagement. The author minimizes scifi hand waving and unobtanium to the greatest extent possible. The reading is delightfull. The conclusions are insightful. Readers who are used to "character driven" Startrekwars cheese should give this a try.
