About this ebook

Undercover operative Jack Taggart is hurled into a world where morality, justice, and the legal system are pitted against one another.

Taggart investigates the murder of someone who was in the wrong place at the wrong time. Wiretap information identifies a shadowy gang member known only as “Cocktail” as being responsible. Taggart and his partner go undercover to join one of a coalition of gangs who are at war in British Columbia. Their mission is to identify Cocktail and gain evidence to convict him of murder. Taggart soon finds himself knee-deep in drive-by shootings, meth labs, retaliatory murders, and date rapes. An offer of a truce brings Taggart, along with gang bosses, to a remote location to discuss a peace agreement. But Cocktail has been a step ahead of them the whole time.

Don Easton touches on some sensitive topics in the next installment of the Jack Taggart dramatic crime series, including religion, drug trafficking, and morality vs legality. This book takes absolutely no time getting off the ground - a gut wrenching case to hook Jack (and the reader), a roller coaster ride of gang fights, high speed chases and deception, and a twist at the end that will had me wanting to hug Jack to pieces (after a good cry). While a generally serious read, I did find myself laughing out loud in numerous spots, as Taggart always seems to have just the right line to feed back to his superiors, or in an undercover moment when things aren't going as planned. Easton's own undercover work is evident throughout the series, as only someone who has been in these situations could write them as he does. Returning readers will be glad to experience quite a bit of growth in multiple characters in this book, and a big announcement
