The sons and daughters of the most powerful families in the realm, her classmates seem determined to see her fail - at whatever cost. So glad it finished...this book seemed to cover the budding relationship between 2 male characters every other chapter and if I wanted to read this type if novel then fantasy is not where I want to find it espically same sex..very few great fanstay books cover any romance and there is a good reason for it...saved me some money now as I won't be following how this story pans out

I enjoyed this book the way class struggle and poverty prejudice are portrayed in sonyas struggle for exceptence is a side to magic guilds I havent come across in any other literature. Only a light read some good social comentry put in a fantasy context. The discriptions on the use of magic from an internal well are also an intresting concept.

It is really worth it to read this novel. Even those, who do not particularly like fantasy novels, will be amazed by her ability to draw life into her tales.
