I was disappointed at how uneventful this book was. This is the last Sookie Stackhouse novel and I felt it was a sub par middle filler novel. I felt that many things were not resolved like she was putting them off to confront in another book but there won't be one. I do have to say that I am conflicted about the ending as it was not as I hoped again, very generic for such a long series. I wonder how the show will address this novel as the show has panned out very differently then the novels. All in all not what I had hoped for in a series ending novel.

I've devoured every book from the beginning and the way she "ended" the story was completely lazy and ridiculous ! If she put as much thought into the actual story as she did the food she spoke about every other paragraph it might of been a substantial ending! Don't even waste your time reading this, just imagine your own ending and you will be far more satisfied. I think it is a tragedy that this book exists. I'm completely saddened and in awe of her complete lack of passion and imagination. Pathetic.

After all the drama of Bill making it clear that he loved her faithfully (not in the physical sense) for the entire series, after the many books of buildup and tension then the love/blood bond with Eric, the almost with Quinn, and what? She ends up with Sam. I get why she couldn't become a vampire, her telepathy carried over the closer she became to being a vampire. She'd never have any silence. (Unless her Vampire control/ability could help her shield her mind better. Makes sense. Bill did teach her about shielding.) But Sam? Strawberry blonde, short, and furry. He's bland. He's pined after her (silently) the entire series while never doing anything about it and he dated a slew of women that tried to kill Sookie. No. Not Sam. Anyone but Sam. This book was extremely disappointing.
