Books 1 - 3 of 6 of The Tales of Alvin Maker: Set in a colonial America where old wives' superstitions are founded, and a small, practical sort of magic exists, Alvin is born the seventh son of a seventh son: a rare occurrence, and a powerful one. So far, Alvin's almost started a war by being captured by rogue Natives, travelled all over America in the company of Tecumseh, learnt how to be a part of nature like the Natives, become a healer, endured an apprenticeship to a petty, jealous blacksmith, fallen in love, turned iron into gold, and found his life's work - fighting the Unmaker.

Rather interesting but feels pointless and way too slow.
