About this ebook

Christine wakes up every morning in an unfamiliar bed with an unfamiliar man. And every morning that man must explain that he is Ben, he is her husband; she is forty-seven years old; and a terrible accident two decades earlier decimated her ability to form new memories. But it’s the phone call from a neurologist named Dr. Nash that directs her to her hidden journal. For the past few weeks, Christine has been recording her activities and rereading past entries, learning the facts of her life as retold by the husband upon whom she is completely dependent. As the entries accumulate, Christine finds herself asking more and more questions—about what she missed and what Ben might not be telling her...

It's a good book but definitely not the best. The story was fascinating but the characters were not fully developed. I picked up this book because my friend was such a fan and couldn't stop talking about it. I did skip a few pages in the end, not because it was boring and predictable, I guess I just wanted to see how the story ends...as soon as possible. To me, S. J. Watson rushed through the last few chapters, there was a bit of chaos, just a little bit when more characters began to appear and joined the story. Especially, the part where Ben (the real Ben) came back. Honestly, I was disappointed. I would recommend this book to other people, and I would tell them: If you buy it, buy it on sale. :-)

I was interested for about 100 pages, forced myself to slog through the next 150, and skimmed the last 100 to get to the really obvious, predictable ending.
