Review: Control. How much control can one person have over another. How much control can one person give to another... willingly. How much control can one person exercise over themselves. And how much can they enjoy it??? Desire Me More is the second book in author Tiffany Clare's three part Desire Me series. At the end of the first book, Miss Amelia Grant had not only been rescued by Mr. Nicholas Riley but but she had become his secretary and more importantly and much more provocatively, his lover. Scandalous in it's own right, Amelia and Nick were having more than just unwed sexual relations. Theirs was a highly erotic, somewhat Dominant/Submissive relationship that was continued right on into Desire Me More. As I had not read the first book, this was my first exposure to the characters. I really enjoyed Amelia. Her sense of wonder and awe as Nick allowed her to explore both his body and her feelings was both relate-able and yet educational as well. Nick was more of a mystery, both to Amelia and to me as the reader. I liked what I knew but there was that niggling worry at the back of my head, saying that what you don't know in a relationship can hurt you. Eventually you do find out more but the reader is left to their own decision as to how they feel about Nick. *grin* I loved that there was an entire story going on beyond the bedroom and what a story it was! It gave the book meat, something I could sink my teeth into and I truly loved the story line. As for how I felt about the erotica and such, I'm no prude and in fact truly enjoy reading a variety of Erotica including many BDSM situations and relationships. I have never read a historical version before however and I found it affected my enjoyment factor a bit. After taking some time to try and figure out why, I guess it seemed out of place for the morals of that era in that level of Society. But what do I know. Maybe it was more common than we realize...ha! Overall, Ms. Clare did a splendid job. This was not a book I could breeze through. I found myself having to re-read passages frequently to make sure I didn't miss anything. It wasn't for lack of understanding the words themselves, rather just making sure I didn't miss any nuances and was clear on not only the dialogue but the ambiance as well. In light of this I would say this is a wonderful book for the over 18 crowd who enjoy reading historical romances and love it HOT in the bedroom. If that is you, then you will LOVE Desire Me More! RATING: 4.5 STARS HEAT: 4/5 SMOKIN' HOT! I received this book via Edelweiss in exchange for my honest and unbiased review. All opinions are my own and no further compensation was received.
