Sara Linton, medical examiner in the small town of Heartsdale, GA, is called out to an apparent suicide on the local college campus. The mutilated body provides little in the way of clues—and the college authorities are eager to avoid a scandal—but for Sara and police chief Jeffrey Tolliver, things don’t add up.

Two more suspicious suicides follow, and a young woman is brutally attacked. For Sara, the violence strikes far too close to home. Ratings and reviews

This book was an intense thriller in the Sara Linton/Grant County series, focusing mostly on Lena Adams and her struggle to identify the killer while dealing with her own personal issues. I liked the character interactions and the plot moved along well.

This was better than I thought it would be. I am going to read more of her books. I was really engrossed in this one. I found it to be interesting in a slightly different way than a lot of the usual mystery books.

Not one of my favorites from Karin Slaughter, but she is a great writer. I am definitely going through her lists.
