I am an 8th grade English teacher, and while searching for the perfect Heroes Journey Archetype exemplar for my students to emulate, I came across Vikings Don't Get Seasick. It is perfect! Not only does it have almost every HJA stage, but it also uses everything called for on the rubric. SPRINGBOARD UNIT 1 EMBEDDED ASSESSMENT. I want to buy at least six one for every table group. She uses vivid-verbs, dialogue, and a plethora of literary devices including: onomatopoeia, simile, personification, hyperbole, allegory, alliteration, imagery, foreshadow, connotative words, diction, sensory words, etc.
